Celebrate Layout for Photo Continental

#kerriegurney

To create this layout start by cutting flora patterned paper to 10.5"x10.5" this will give you a strip 1.5" x 12" cut a pennant into this strip and then cut a strip 3.5" x 12" from the fauna patterned paper and also a strip 2.5" x 10" and then cut a pennant into this strip. Distress all the edges of patterned paper and cardstock using your scissors.

When you have finished distressing all piece tear a section to create a peek a boo section on the top left side of the 10.5" square of flora patterned paper, roll the edges down.

Before adhering 10.5" square to base cardstock cut a rectangle from the middle this will go behind the metal frame on your layout so use the metal frame as a guide.

Cut Cameo Ornamental Lace Die Cut in half and pop half behind the peek a boo section of 10.5" square so that the lace it peeking out the top and adhere to cardstock.

Using the widest piece of lace adhere it across the 3.5" x 12" strip of fauna pattern paper with the dark side as the A side, make sure you allow enough to go around the back so the edges don't fray, then adhere that to your page.

Attach the pick lace to the left side of your floral pennant and adhere to page butting it up to the peek a boo section (again make sure you allow extra to go around the page so as not to fray)
then adhere the fauna pennant to page as pictured.

Now to create your clusters

for the top left cluster tie a bow using the soft cream lace, cut the shank off the back of button and adhere to canvas heart and adhere to page. Also adhere Celebrate die cut, number stickers and I also adhered a resin flower into the bottom of peek a boo (sorry I didn't get a photo before dropping off to PC, but you can see it in the photo below)

for this cluster, adhere the piece of cream cardstock to the back of metal frame and then attach the other half of the cameo ornamental lace die cut, adhere this to the page and then slip the ivy leaves in behind pinching the leaves to add texture. Finish off with star canvas shape with a flower in the center.

A Vision in White Zig Zag Card for Photo Continental

#kerriegurney

Cut a piece of 12"x12" white cardstock to 2 x 6” x 12” White Cardstock

Cut diagonal strip starting from top left down to approx. 2”

Score at 4” & 8”

Fold the two pieces and make sure you have them looking like this when they are facing you
see the top of the folds with the higher side to the outside

On one piece cut from middle down at 2”, 6” & 10”
and then on the other piece cut from the middle up

'(Tip from one of the ladies in my first class ...you can fold up and make one cut instead of 3 :) )

join the two sections together

this is what they will look like when looking down on the card

now with the card together pop it in asian wave embossing folder and run it through your machine
(for a big shot have all platform layers, 2 sheets of cardstock, then card in embossing folder and then top plate and run through machine, with top of the card going through first, it will be tight, but if it is too tight play around with your sandwich)

now to start embellishing
start off with the front
adhere two of the classical die cuts side on, then create your flower using the retro flower die cuts 2 of each size and pinch them to add dimension adhere the flower to front of card and then cut the Aurora vine in half and pop top half down behind flower. Tie a bow and place that up under the flower add some gemstones to center.

place die cuts randomly in each section and finish off with crystal gemstones and crystal Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue

Special Memories with Special People

Hello

It is my turn on the Couture Creations Blog today I have finally printed out some of my favourite photos from my trip to South Africa and I love this one of us ladies. Not the best photo of us all but this was our first time meeting and we all went out on an adventure to Sandton to visit Nelson Mandela Square. This photo makes me happy as not only was I in South Africa with my Mum I got to meet these fabulous ladies, Amber Crowell, Trisha Ladouceur & Angela Lanoy ..we didn't know yet but we were about to have an amazing adventure together thanks to Glenda Viljoen

anyway onto my layout which I have used lots of Couture Creations products on

Start by cutting the striped piece of Sew Jo patterned paper down to 11.5" 11.5" and then distressed the edges of both the patterned paper and the Core'dinations cardstock using my scissors, using scissors helps get the edges really distressed.

next sprinkle some walnut ink crystals in some texture paste and mix in

then place the Tied Together die with the flat side down onto the bottom right side patterned paper
and randomly smear into the pattern

carefully lift off and repeat on the top left side, set aside to dry

Die cut 3 of the Classical die using a cereal box, as you can see it cuts through easily

pop the bits out

Add some Crystal Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue to Gesso mix in and then paint the chipboard die cuts and set aside. This add a subtle touch of sparkle to your die cuts

die cut 1 x Sophia Stella die and emboss using Small Dots embossing folder, lightly ink edges using a Sponge Dauber

Using  the 3 middle sizes of the Sunflower Nesting Die die cut 2 of each size, cut sections into petals, spritz with water and scrunch to give dimension. lightly ink the edges with ink using Sponge Dauber.
Assemble flower and add an embellishment to center

here is a look at all the dies I have used, I keep the dies I am using on one of the Magnetic Storage Sheets while I am working on a project, this way I don't misplace the dies. On the Cappuccino Ornamental Lace Die I have used double sided tape to keep the Quick Release Die Paper permanently on my die, making it easy to use and all those pesky bits fall straight out.

Once all pieces are dry, assemble layout.
I have also cut a measuring tape strip from Sew Jo Paper Pad ...finish off with some pearls

I lightly brushed the Imaginarium Designs Chipboard title with Gesso and then lightly sprayed with Walnut Ink, I also lightly sprayed the Classical Chipboard die cuts with Walnut Ink.
