Memorydex Challenge 2020

#kerriegurney

Hi Everyone
This year to kick start my lost mojo i have joined the Memorydex Challenge on Instagram hosted by Damaris and Caroline

The point of the challenge is to create a Memorydex card each week using the prompts tha Damaris and Caroline set and for you to use up your stash, so what is not to love about this challenge.

for my "cover" Memorydex cards I have used one of my all time favourite Bo Bunny collections along with some Heidi Swapp Embellishments, Little Birdie Crafts Flowers and some diecuts from my pre diecut stash

Now I didn't own the Heidi Swapp Memorydex Dies so the hunt was on as there is really only Spotlight to get HS products here in Australia and being an older line it was going to be hard but the crafting angles were on my side and I managed to not only get both sets but I purchased them for just $5 each  there was some travelling involved but I was a lady on a mission

The box to display my Memory Dex Cards in is a box I had in my craft room I just added the rods

It is not too late to join in over on Instagram

Best Ever | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney  #couturecreations

Hi Everyone Kerrie here with a fun layout I created using Couture Creations Card Deco Essentials Dye Ink Pads and their latest collection Sunburnt Country

Last month I was so fortunate to be a volunteer at the Inas Global Games held here in Brissie and I knew this this photo of me with Lori the mascot for the games would be perfect for the Lorikeet patterned paper

To create my background I smooched the ink pad colours onto the plastic packaging that cardstock comes in and then spritzed it with water. Then lay my base cardstock ontop and press down .

I wanted a imperfect look so I didn't over press

I coloured my die cut leaves again using an ink pad smooshed onto plastic packaging  ad then dip the leaves in

set leaves and background aside to dry or dry off with your heat tool

I fussy cut the Lorikeets from the patterned paper to layer onto my layout

lastly flick on some splatters using white gesso watered down with water and a splatter brush

Couture Creations Card Deco Essentials Ink Pads and Sunburnt Country Collection are available NOW from your local papercrafting store

Celebrate 80 Card | Little Birdie Crafts

Hi Everyone Kerrie here with another tutorial for Little Birdie Crafts Blog

Last month my Mother In Law celebrated her 80th Birthday and so to commemorate her milestone birthday I created this special card for her.

I have used the New Release Amor Mio Collection, this collection is gorgeous, perfect for weddings, formals and any special occasion.

I started off by cutting my base papers with the top piece being slightly smaller than the bottom piece. I then tore the centre of the top layer at the top and bottom. I distress the edges of all pieces and rolled back the torn edges to create a peek a boo to the bottom layer

I then created some texture to the top layer using Mixed Media Paste and Script Stencil.
While the Mixed Media Paste was still wet I sprinkled on Crystal Glitter

Once dry I adhered the layers together using foam tape to give dimension between the layers and the wrapped some twine around the center before adhering to my card base

I then create my flower cluster, adding a paper doily peeking out from the layers and some lace leaves. I also added some sisal fibre to add texture

I then swiped Rich Gold Metallic Wax to the wood veneer 80 plus I rubbed it along the edges of my layers and to the rolled pieces to add dimension to my layers

I finished off applying some Gel Medium randomly to my flowers and sisal fibres and then sprinkled on Gold Micro Beads to again add  texture to my card.
I finished off with a sprinkling of Butterflies
