Hi everyone it is Kerrie and it's my turn on the Couture Creations Blog again.
For today's post I created a quick and simple set of cards using 3 colours of Core'dinations cardstock, a few sheets of the Pink & White patterned papers from the Couture Creations Damask Delight Paper Pads and some of the fabulous NEW Couture Creations Embossing Folders and Dies.
Stay with me as there are alot of photos and some techniques for you to look at....
All the cards are quite simple and don't take long to create, this is a fabulous way to stock up your card collection so you have a card ready for your next special occasion.
Here is a close up look at some of the techniques I have used on the cards
Embossing, pop all your strips into the embossing folder to save time. When embossing with the Chevron folder make sure you check whether you want your chevron horizontal or vertical on your cardstock and place in the the folder the correct way.
One of best things about using Core'dinations color core cardstock is how you can change the whole look of your project just by sanding lightly to reveal the core colour
If your cutting plates are a bit worn use a Metal Adapter Plate to help the die cut through, actually even if you palates are new use one as it stops your plates from marking
with just one run through your machine your die will cut through and lift straight off the die
If you only want to die cut one size from the Retro Flowers Die cut your cardstock to fit, save a lot of wastage
Sand the edges of your flowers to add some texture and definition to your petals
don't have glitter cardstock, create your own using our GLitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue, just squeeze it out onto the doily die
and then use your finger to smooch it all over the die giving a thin coating, set aside to dry
To create a paper flower die cut 3 of the Retro Flower Dies
Layer the two larger ones together using a mini glue spot to hold in place. Spritz with water
Pinch and scrunch your petals, until you are happy with how they look. Leave to dry
do the same with your leaves instead of leaving them flat. You can then add some glitter glue to the leaves giving them some sparkle
When you don't need a full 12" border strip just die cut the size of cardstock that you need
Finish off by adding Glitzin Glamour Glitter Glue to the edges of flowers to give them a nice sparkle.
TIP; when diecutting Core'dinations Glitter Silk Cardstock place the back side onto the blades, it gives a clean cut.
TIP; Distress the edges of your cardstock and patterned papers using the edge of scissors
and that is the end of my very long photo filled post, I hope I have inspired you to create some fun quick and simple cards.
