Creating quick cards using diecuts

#kerriegurney

Here are some quick cards I created to use up some of the die cuts I cut while demonstrating at the Craft & Quilt Fair in Sydney

I highly recommend spending and hour or so diecutting and embossing, you can then store them in a container so when you do need a quick card you don't have to worry about getting your die cutting machine out as you have a supply ready to go

See you in Launceston

Glittery Love | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney

Hi All
Kerrie here with a quick card share

To create this card start by diecutting Vierge Square die from the Elegant Card Cuts collection using purple cardstock  cut down so it is just a tad larger than the die to create a border
Next cut a piece of white cardstock to create a 15cm square card and a piece Pansy Dressing (the B side) to cover the card front
Cut another piece of white cardstock the same size as your diecut and place strips of 18mm double sided tape to cover the entire card.
Then remove all the backing paper from the double sided tape and adhere the die cut to the piece of card and ahdere to card front
Next sprinkle fine white crystal glitter to the whole card and press down to make sure all the glitter sticks, shake off the excess and you have a super sparkly card
Next diecut 1 x Anastasia doily die from white cardstock, tie a piece of ribbon around and adhere to card using foam tape
Colour a paper flower with sprays and adhere to doily pop on a word
Ink the edges of your card and your are done

Craft & Quilt Fair Sydney Recap

#kerriegurney #craftandquiltfair

Ho everyone sorry for the lateness of this recap I have been busy prepping for the next Craft & Quilt Fair in Launceston and catching up on everything at home.

Sydney was fantastic, although wet and gloomy for most of the time it was still an amazing show with lots of creative people filling the venue.

Again I forgot to take photos of everyone doing my Make & Take classes, maybe I will remember in Launceston, I am too busy teaching and talking :)

Anyway thanks again to everyone who came along to visit me and take one of my classes, you were all so lovely and I really enjoyed meeting you all

To the person or persons who decided to steal my class kits and class sample right before I was due to teach a class ....What can I say but that was a very low act and karma will get you.
Not only by you stealing those kits to you put a damper on the show for me but also those who had paid to do my make & take and the classes afterwards.
I truly hope it was worth it for you and thank you for at least leaving the tools and adhesives.

I didn't let that horrible person ruin my time at the show as one awful person is stomped out but thousands of fabulous people

here are some photos to prove it ...sorry lots of photos

firstly some photos of my displays on my stand

I have to say I loved the venue, it was so light and airy inside and catching a ferry to work each day was fantastic

not a bad view back of the city either

Just add Metallics | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney   #couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone Kerrie here
with a quick tutorial for using
the Elegant Card Cuts, Mercato Flourish Die and some metallic flakes
(what is not to love about theses)

Firstly cut a piece of cardstock to 6" x 12", position your die onto the cutting machine plate and then line up your cardstock and run through the machine.
Don't forget your quick release die paper, you don't want anything sticking into the die

This die only cuts out the center pieces, so using a magnetic platform is a good idea to stop the die from slipping but if you don't have one you can use some removable tape to stop it slipping

next using your trimmer and embossing tool, score the center fold line

add some 6 mm double sided tape around the edges of the card

remove the backing paper and sprinkle on the metallic flakes, pressing them onto the tape and rubbing off slightly.

I have left mine messy as I like this look but if you want a cleaner look rub right back

I then die cut Dream and layered in onto a scrap of cardstock, sponging both with ink.  I diecut the bonus piece of Mercato die, sprayed my flower with a metallic spray and then while it was still wet rubbed it onto the craft mat and got some of the scrap metallic flakes on it. Adhere them onto your card add a backing piece of paper your are finished.

Here is a bonus project that I also used the metallic flakes on
It is a small embroidery hoop

I placed a piece of patterned paper onto the hoop decorated with dies and ribbon

then I placed the 12mm double sided tape around the edge of the wooden hoop and added the flakes to the edge of the hoop

I hope you have enjoyed my quick tutorial
The Elegant Card Cuts have 5 different dies in the collection which are all fabulous for creating quick cards
