Hi Everyone Kerrie here
with a quick tutorial for using
the Elegant Card Cuts, Mercato Flourish Die and some metallic flakes
(what is not to love about theses)
Firstly cut a piece of cardstock to 6" x 12", position your die onto the cutting machine plate and then line up your cardstock and run through the machine.
Don't forget your quick release die paper, you don't want anything sticking into the die
This die only cuts out the center pieces, so using a magnetic platform is a good idea to stop the die from slipping but if you don't have one you can use some removable tape to stop it slipping
next using your trimmer and embossing tool, score the center fold line
add some 6 mm double sided tape around the edges of the card
remove the backing paper and sprinkle on the metallic flakes, pressing them onto the tape and rubbing off slightly.
I have left mine messy as I like this look but if you want a cleaner look rub right back
I then die cut Dream and layered in onto a scrap of cardstock, sponging both with ink. I diecut the bonus piece of Mercato die, sprayed my flower with a metallic spray and then while it was still wet rubbed it onto the craft mat and got some of the scrap metallic flakes on it. Adhere them onto your card add a backing piece of paper your are finished.
Here is a bonus project that I also used the metallic flakes on
It is a small embroidery hoop
I placed a piece of patterned paper onto the hoop decorated with dies and ribbon
then I placed the 12mm double sided tape around the edge of the wooden hoop and added the flakes to the edge of the hoop
I hope you have enjoyed my quick tutorial
The Elegant Card Cuts have 5 different dies in the collection which are all fabulous for creating quick cards
