Capture the Moment | Couture Creations Ultimate Crafts

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hi Everyone Kerrie here with another tutorial for Couture Creations Ultimate Crafts blog using the gorgeous Ultimate Crafts Magnolia Lane collection.

My baby girl turned sweet 16 in December last year,  I absolutely love these photos of her in front of her photobooth backdrop I created from rosettes and tissue pom poms
(which I have to admit we still have hanging up as we love it so much, the upside it will be perfect for photos Easter morning)

onto my tutorial

On this layout I have torn the paper layers rather than using a trimmer. To get your paper to tear where you want it too just use a paintbrush with a bit of water and paint a line where you would like the paper to tear.

next up I fussy cut the floral border from Butterflies & Lace patterned paper ...yes I fussy cut it is so not my thing but as you can see I am not too fussy with my cutting :)

I then die cut a Magnolia Heart from white cardstock to use as a stencil
(don't forget to use Quick Release Die Paper so the cardstock come out of the die easily

I then embossed a piece of  Damask Curtains using  Magnolia lace embossing folder

I then cut it in half

next I used Cottonball Pearl Drops and the Magnolia Heart Die Cut to add a subtle and pearlescent texture to my base white cardstock, set aside to dry

when I finished I covered the whole heart with a thin layer of Pearl Drops

and set it aside to dry off so now I have a beautiful pearlescent heart to use on another project.

Next up i mixed Madagascar and Cottonball Pearl drops together to get a lovely soft pink shade

and then painted the pearl drops onto the tips of my Magnolia paper flowers

now my paper magnolias have a lovely pearlescent tint to them

I then layered all my pieces together. I have used the following Magnolia Lane papers
ULT157489 Floral Fancy, ULT157494 Damask Curtains & ULT157491 Butterflies and Lace
Use you fingernails to curl the edges of your layers for more texture and pinch the leaves on the fussy cut border.

I then added some paper flowers including the pearlescent tinted Magnolias, a sprinkling of sequins and pearls and some muslin for texture

don't you love how deeply the embossing folder embosses

a closer look

I hope you have enjoy my tutorial and give my techniques a try

#cruising | Simple Stories

#kerriegurney

Hi everyone and especially all the lovely
#workshopwondersonwater cruising ladies

Here is the bonus layout for you using the
Simple Stories You are Here Collection Kit

this is a super quick layout as we all want to get our cruise photos into our album.
I am actually going to do a whole 6x8 Sn@p Binder  for most of my cruise photos

but I also want to have some special 12"x12" pages and so I have scrapped this special photo of Bezzie, Leith and I as the ship Legend of the Seas headed out under the Gateway Bridge and off on our big scrapbooking cruise adventure.

Ok onto the quick tutorial
I have used the SS6215 Orange Map/Pink Map as the base for my layout
I then cut the Destination Strip from SS6213 Elements Paper
Then cut Here We Go from SS621 Horizontal Elements
Cut Sun Shine and Happiness from SS6210 3"x4" Journaling Card Elements and from SS6214 Green Map/Teal Map a piece 5"x7" I have used the green side
Cut from SS6209 Boarding Pass a pice 4.5"x6.5" I have used the spot side
Distress the edges of all pieces including your photo
Layer all the pieces onto the base piece (you can use some foam tape under some layoers if your would like some dimension)

Add your photo
Add Sun Shine and Happiness using foam mounting tape to add dimension

Add some sentiment stickers from SS6203 Expressions Cardstock Stickers and some stickers from SS6202 Fundamental Cardstock Stickers

Add Wood Veneer Dolphin which I sprayed with some silver and blue metallic mists, I also sprayed the wood veneer#

Create #CRUISING title using wood veneer and Cardstock Alpha Stickers
Finish off with some Enamel Dots

and there you have another layout completed for your Cruise album

thanks again to the lovely Kevin and Amber at Simple Stories for the fabulous giveaways for my classes. Don't forget to drop them a line and let them know how much you love their papers and giveaways.

here is my first page in my Sn@p Album

I bought a Royal Caribbean Legend of the Seas Scrapbooking Kit which had the logo and some other RC scrapbooking embellishments which will be perfect for my album and the suede tassel I bought in Noumea in a little craft shop we found
The Chipboard titles here and on the cover were specially designed for the cruise by Scrapmatts

Cadbury guarding my kits and giveaways
(thanks so much to Artdeco Creations  and Simple Stories for the Giveaways)

all packed and ready to go

Firstly I didn't vomit even though we had very rough seas the first night and day I wasn't great but I didn't vomit thanks to copious amounts of Kwells and resting up on the top deck in the fresh air
I did however get severely sunburnt even though I was in the shade, I guess it was from the reflection off the water and the fact that my legs don't see sunlight ever

and we are off ...my roomies for the cruise Bezzie and Leith

our classroom for the 9 days

I still can't believe I did this ..it was revolting and i will never do it again

next up Vila

Lifou, Loyalty Island

Natalie and I joined in the Royal Caribbean Scrapbooking class on one of our free days

arriving back into Brissie early Sunday morning

I was so blessed to share my adventure with the fabuloulsy talented
Cathy Cafun, Natalie May & Tina Connolly and a huge THANK YOU to Alison Bevis (Workshop Wonders) and Lorelle Hardt (Crafting Cruises) for organising this amazing adventure

super cute tag I created for the embellishment swap, using Couture Creations Flamingo Die and Ultimate Crafts Magnolia Lane papers

If you weren't able to make it along but would like to purchase some class kits.
We all did extra and Alison has them for sale just contact her

My class kits contains most products you need to create the 3 layouts below and one other layout, including 2 Couture Creations embossing folders and a die from the Magnolia Lane collection
(I am teaching it at another event and so cannot show it at the moment)
you only need to add a decorative border punch and black and silver sprays
Please Note; All my layouts are very easy to create as I taught on the last day and wanted everyone to finish all 4 layouts in class, so they could walk off the ship with all the layouts from the cruise finished.

Please make sure you support my fabulous class sponsors

I created this layout using Ultimate Crafts Magnolia Lane collection

Come back tomorrow for a BONUS layout and tutorial for all of you who were cruising with me or who purchase the kits using more papers and embellishments from your
Simple Stories You are Here Collection Kit
