Christmas Tree 2012

here is a look at our Christmas Tree for 2012 (not many presents under the tree as my children got experiences this year instead of gifts that clutter)

This year we have just the one tree as we didn't have our ladder to get into the ceiling to get any others down :( so while it was disappointing not to have a forest of trees I love how our tree looks and may even repeat this colour theme  for 2013. We went with the black tree which was down (but packed away) from last year and it was perfect for our theme of Red, Black, Kraft & Cream.

I created the rosettes on the tree using old dictionary paper, paper doilies and some old ugly poinsettias that I glittered.
I had to purchase new lights as my lights that I have had for approx 30 years finally just stopped working, not too happy with the lights as they have white wiring, which stands out too much for me but that was all that was left in the stores.

I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas

Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine ~ Two Page Layouts

I was going through cleaning up some photos files and remembered that i had not shared my double page layouts that were in Issue #15 of Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine.
My commission was to create 3 x two page pet layouts, which was perfect seeing we now had Cadbury our Chocolate Labrador and I love creating pages with photos of Toby our much loved cat, but what to do about the third two page layout. Toby doesn't like Cadbury at all and Cadbury is scared of Toby so there was no chance of cute photos of the two of them snuggling, So it was off to the pet store to buy a new fish and so we welcomed Simon the Siamese Fighting Fish to our family.

this two page layout documents Cadbury's first 6 months and  has a concertina booklet with more photos of Cadbury when we first got him, he grew so quickly as you can see from the first  photo taken day he came home to live with us to the Christmas photo shoot with Taylah.

Toby loves nothing better than to lay out in the sun on our driveway, while sunning himself he rolls around on his back, so cute.

Introducing Simon, I love these photos of him as they show all the detail in his tail, such a elegant looking fish.
You will be happy to know that Simon is still going strong, as eagerly awaits being fed each morning ☺ I am normally not good with fish.

I wanted my two page layouts to be all about the photos so while they are simple, I love how they showcase our much loved pets.

Old Book Paper Christmas Trees

Old Book Paper Christmas Trees are all over Pintrest and Margie is teaching them in her Spark Christmas online classes, so  I just had to make my own. They are so easy quick and easy and I just love them, I have used an old dictionary for my book paper, some poinsettias from the dollar shop and some pots I had in my craft room.

so happy to be creating Christmas goodness :)

NOEL Christmas Decor Wooden Frame

I created this as part of my Christmas decorating for 2012 using a Craft Concepts wooden frame.

I removed the glass and covered the frame with texture paste and while wet sprinkled Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter all over the frame. Once dry I placed the backing on to mark the squares ready to embellish.
Using Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage 6x6 paper pad and stickers I embellished each square adding a bit of organza ribbon.

Formal Layouts

I created both these simple layouts for Create & Play Club using the Doodlebug Essentials Classic Collection,Teresa Collins Timeless Papers, Couture Creations Adalyn Flowers & Martha Stewart Deep Edge Doily Punch. The photos are from A & B's Formals ...A's in 2010 and B's in August this year,  both A & B had Black, White & Red, so these papers worked well for both formals. On A's I have used the bow from her shoe as an embellishment (she trashed her shoes)

oops i left these photos from Kichaka out

I love this group photo of us all taken the morning we had to leave Kichaka.... none of us wanted to leave but we still had work to do and Cape Town to see.

Kichaka has the most beautiful staff and their rangers Ashley and Aidy were the best, so knowledgeable and so much fun. I cannot thank Glenda enough for this experience, I will treasure my time spent in South Africa for life.

I am back... sharing my South African Experience

2 months flies by in the blink of an eye  ....between computer problems, and lots happening in our family I have badly neglected my blog.

So to catch up  here are the promised photos from my life changing trip to South Africa,  I highly recommend visiting this amazing country. Thank you again to Glenda from SA Scrapbook Convention for inviting me.

Singapore Layover | at least it is a relaxing airport to spend 5 hours in the middle of the night.

Johannesburg | Day 1 Visit to The Wholesaler's Warehouse, Day 2 Shopping at Sandton, Nelson Mandela Square, Day 3 & 4 Classes at Emperors Palace

Kichaka Luxury Lodge | Day 5 & 6 words cannot express what an experience this was.

Cape Town | Day 8 a personal tour of Cape Town for us all. Such a pretty place.

Spier & Stellenbosch | Day 9 a day of sightseeing in Stellenbosch. Day 10 a stroll around the grounds of Spier, including a visit to the Eagle Encounter and teaching the last class of the convention.

Cape Town | Day 11 Mum and I had an extra day in Cape Town and stayed at The Commodore at the V&A Waterfront, we jumped on the red double decker bus for some more sightseeing and a spot of shopping.

These photos are just a snap shot of my trip, I took thousands of photos which I am going to do a photo book of most photos as I would be scrapbooking for years if i was to scrap all my photos. I can't wait to scrap my favourite photos from my trip.

I thank everyone I met for making this trip a trip I will hold close to my heart forever ♥
