Walk with Lions | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone Kerrie here,
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas day with those you love.

 I created this layout for
Artdeco Creations Blog
using
Couture Creations Wild & Free Collection
I love this collection it is perfect for my photos from my trip to South Africa but it is also perfect for any outdoorsy photos or zoo photos

The gorgeous subject in my photos is Ben he is 13 months old and was very playful, he even gave Dennis and I a love nip on the leg and he was gorgeous.
Check the size of those paws!!!

To say this was an amazing day is an understatement and it is a day I will cherish forever, just looking at my photos from the day takes me back and I relive all those feeling I felt on the day.
This is what I love about scrapbooking, everytime I create a layout I step back and relive all those emotions from the moment the photo was taken
Anyway onto my layout and how I created it

Firstly I embossed my kraft strips using the Tribal Crosshatch embossing folder

to emboss a full strip you just slide the strip through the slot and match up the pattern

the tip to get the perfect embossed strip is to make sure the blank strip of the embossing folder is hanging out of the plates so you don't get a flat section

see how my embossing folder is hanging out from the plates

perfect embossed strips

next up using a sponge dauber and a brown ink dye ink pad i inked the edges of my strips and then lightly went over them to make the embossed pattern pop

here is a look at my layers before popping on my photos and embellishments. I have used a mix of Wild & Free patterned paper and strips from the Wild & Free Ephemera pack and 3 die cuts that I cut in black cardstock using one of the Ultimate Crafts Ooh La La Ornate Entrance Set dies
I also added some spatters using Couture Creations Anna Griffin Brown Pigment mixed with water. I did this before adding my photos and embellishments

here is a closer look at the layers with photos

a close look at my embellishment clusters which were created using the Wild & free Ephemera pack and the sticker sheet from the Wild & Free Collection pack.
I have used foam tape behind some of the pieces to give the cluster some dimension.

again it is a quick and simple layout which is just what you need when creating layouts for a travel album especially if you have loads of photos to scrapbook.
I like my travel albums to be fairly flat so my albums don't become to bulky.

Being Together Christmas Layout | Couture Creations + Ultimate Crafts

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hi Everyone Kerrie here with a super quick Christmas layout.
I don't know about you all but sometimes you just want to crank out some quick layouts so that you can get your memories documented and layouts in your albums.
Christmas is one such occasion as you want to preserve those precious memories but you also want to spend time over the holiday season creating more memories with your family.
So quick & simple is what you need and this layout is super quick to create

Now I absolutely love this photo of my Great Nephews and Niece, it brings back so many memories of when my children where young and trying to get that perfect Santa photo.
Now young Finn is the most happy smiley baby but it would seem he shares my Ashleigh's "love" of Santa :) We only ever got one Santa photo with Ashleigh she was terrified of him and would climb under chairs/tables or anything to hide if she saw him and would not stop crying/screaming until the big guy was gone.

Tip 1; use Couture Creations Turbo Glue Pen to adhere you die cuts to your project, the fine tip is perfect for those intricate die cuts and is super strong so it is also fabulous for adhering metal embellishments and flowers

Tip2; don't throw away your foam dot scraps, cut them up and use to give dimension for sentiments and larger pieces

Tip 3; Use Couture Creations Sponge Dauber to ink the edges of all your patterned papers and cardstock and it is also perfect for inking up your intricate die cuts

Tip 4; Ink the edges of your base with not only a brown ink pad but also with a watermark/clear ink pad and sprinkle with Gold Embossing powder and heat set

this gives your edge double dimension with a touch of metallic

I cut my patterned papers for my layers to the following sizes
Check; 28cm x 17.5cm
Stars & Hearts; 25.5cm x 13cm
Spot; 8.5cm x 23cm & 8.5cm x 7.5cm
Cardstock; 13cm x 17.5cm

If you want to amp your layout up a bit you can distress the edges of your papers and cardstock, add some more embellishments like pearls or add more texture with some texture paste
I kept this one nice and simple by adding something more to the background with some quick paint splatters

Celebrate 75

#kerriegurney
#ultimatecrafts #couturecreationsaus

Hi everyone, Kerrie here
It was my Daddio's 75th birthday in November and I created this special card for him using Ultimate Crafts Ooh La La Collection along with a Couture Creations Stencil, Chunky Aged Copper Embossing Powder and a Ornamental Affair Delilah Doily Die
This card is super quick to create and is created from scraps...
shhhhh don't tell my dear old Dad that :)

Firstly I ink my chipboard numbers with Versamark and then sprinkled on Couture Creations Chunky aged Copper Embossing Powder
(these chipboard numbers are from Heidi Swapp's original collection release way back, yes i am a hoarder and have 3 boxes of them still )

Make sure to really cover the chipboard

Tap off excess powder and return it to the container and then heat set the embossing powder using a Couture Creations Heat Tool

You can see when the powder is all molten and leave to set which doesn't take long at all.
I love all the colours in this powder

Next I inked the whole of my card front using  brown dye ink on a sponge dauber and the
Couture Creations Be Merry, Christmas Threads Stencil

I also coloured my Delilah Doily using the sponge dauber and brown dye ink too

Using some scrap pieces of Ultimate Crafts Ooh La La papers I cut them into pennants and distressed and inked the edges of all my paper and cardstock pieces.
Then I assembled my card, adding some metal charms to complete the card.
