You can never have too much happy Mini | Celebr8

Hi Everyone Kerrie here with a super cute mini tag booklet that I created by folding just one sheet of patterned paper. This little mini works best with double sided papers but you can still create with single sided. You can add pages if you like too but I have just added tags that I will pop some photos on. This is a great mini whe you want to showcase a small event or just some of your fav photos
I have used the Loving You collection from Celebr8 it is an older collection but your local store may still have some in stock

Precious Moments | Little Birdie Crafts

#kerriegurney #littlebirdiecrafts

Hi Everyone, Kerrie here with a layout I created for Little Birdie Crafts using their Beautiful Life  Patterned Cardstock Collection
I have used a photo of my eldest daughter taken when she was just 6 months old, she will be 27 next week so I thought is was a nice time to scrap this photo. This photo has always been a favourite of mine as she is wearing a dress that was her dad's from when he was a baby. My Hubby is one of  5 boys and obviously his Mum wanted a girl and dressed him in dresses :)
It is a very treasured dress which I will pass down to my children. I only wish I had taken of photo of them all in it.

Using the plastic bag the patterned cardstock came in slap on some Misty Rose Chalk Paint and then spritz with water and smoosh around

Then lay your cardstock straight on and smooth over, lift off gently

You will end of with a chalky watercolour effect. Dry off with heat tool

Cut the border from this sheet of patterned cardstock and cut down your

Colour Chipboard Sentiment using a layer of Misty Rose, while still wet apply a coat of Tattered Lace and then again while still wet another coat of Misty Rose and set aside to dry

Fussy cut some flower clusters from the fussy cut sheet, cut some tags, doilies and journal blocks to embellish your layout and don't forget to add some handmade flowers.
I added some sparkle using Strawberry Lips Hodge Podge and Gel Medium

I applied some Gel Medium using a skewer to the top of my Chipboard Title and then sprinkled on the Strawberry Lips Hodge Podge

I added some White Gesso to flowers and leaves using a combination of dry brushing and applying with a skewer

I popped some Sisal Fibre under my clusters to add texture

I finished off with with some splatters, I create these using watered down White Gesso and a Fan Paint Brush

Beautiful Life Class Layouts | Celebr8

#kerriegurney #celebr8

Hi Everyone I hope you are all safe and healthy. While self isolating I was going through deleting photos from my phone and came across photos of these layouts I created for Celebr8. These were a bonus take home class that attendees were given when Erin and Jenny did their Celebr8 classes back in February.
I absolutely love this Beautiful Life collection and it was so easy to create with and as you can see it is perfect for many occasions.
Scroll down for a closer look at my layouts.

Tip; add a watercolour effect using sprays or ink pads. Just spritz or dab colour onto craft mat and spritz with water then tap page onto the craft mat

Tip; double layer embellishments using foam tape and some cotton thread, muslin or sisal fibre to add  texture and dimension

Tip; If you visit parks grab their flyers that way you can add their logo to your clusters

I always like to add splatters to finish off my layouts

Celebr8 collections are available from your local papercrafting stores in South Africa and Australia
if you local store doesn't yet stock Celebr8 collections ask them to get them in

Memorydex Challenge 2020

#kerriegurney

Hi Everyone
This year to kick start my lost mojo i have joined the Memorydex Challenge on Instagram hosted by Damaris and Caroline

The point of the challenge is to create a Memorydex card each week using the prompts tha Damaris and Caroline set and for you to use up your stash, so what is not to love about this challenge.

for my "cover" Memorydex cards I have used one of my all time favourite Bo Bunny collections along with some Heidi Swapp Embellishments, Little Birdie Crafts Flowers and some diecuts from my pre diecut stash

Now I didn't own the Heidi Swapp Memorydex Dies so the hunt was on as there is really only Spotlight to get HS products here in Australia and being an older line it was going to be hard but the crafting angles were on my side and I managed to not only get both sets but I purchased them for just $5 each  there was some travelling involved but I was a lady on a mission

The box to display my Memory Dex Cards in is a box I had in my craft room I just added the rods

It is not too late to join in over on Instagram

Celebrate 60 Rustic Cogs Card | Little Birdie Crafts

Hi Everyone it's Kerrie back with another project created using the fabulous Little Birdie Crafts mixed media products. I just love how easily the elements come together to create striking projects using Little Birdie Crafts mixed media mediums.

It is definetly a year of milestone birthdays in our family and October sees my brother in law celebrating the BIG 60

here is how I created my card

I started off cutting a piece of white cardstock to 20.5cm x 14.5cm and then added texture using stencil and mixed media paste, set aside to dry.

then paint an assortment of metal charms and wood veneer numbers using gesso and crackle paste, set aside to dry or dry using heat tool.

once everything was dry i wrapped some twine around the base and added some sisal fibre. I then adhered Chipboard Cogs using Heavy Gel Medium. Little Birdie chipboard is already primed so you don't need to gesso

adhere metal charms and wood veneer numbers, add on top of cogs and slip under to give dimension to card.

while Gel Medium is still wet sprinkle on Metal Micro Beads

now its time to add colour, starting off with Mocha Color Splash Spray, give light and heavy bursts

next add spritz of Charcoal Color Splash spray

once happy with  the colour coverage add some splatters with both colours, then dry off using heat tool

to add some definition to the metals charms, chipboard and wood veneers I rubbed on both Gold and Silver Metallic Wax

here is a closer look at the metallic wax

I absolutely love these colours together,  I especially love that the Charcoal spray is not too dark

using foam tape adhere the front to your card base

here are some photos to show all the texture and detail
