Christmas Wreaths | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus #christmasinjuly

Hi Kerrie here
I am super excited to share with you the wreaths I have created for the
Couture Creations Christmas in July Celebration

I just love Christmas decorating and love to have a different them each year.
While I haven't decided what colour theme I will go with this year I thought I would get a start on my Christmas gifts as I love to give a wreath as a gift to special friends.
I have used the Couture Creations Christmas Eve Decorative Dies to embellish some cheap wreaths I purchased.

One can never have too much glitter at Christmastime ...I created my own glitter paper using Couture Creations Double Sided Adhesive

Start off laying down strips of  the 18mm tape onto thin white cardstock, making sure you butt the strips up against each other

nest trim off the excess tape

run the card through making sure you use Quick Release Die Paper otherwise the sticker paper will stick into the die and also use the Metal Adapter Plate so that you get a nice clean cut

release diecut from cardstock, peel off the backing paper and sprinkle of superfine gold glitter

I did the same with the Joy ...adhere diecuts using Turbo Glue Pen it is perfect for adhering diecuts

add diecuts to pinecone wreath, I also added the bird and other folage

for this wreath I tied the bauble to the top of the wreath so that it swings

Craft & Quilt Fair Recap | Launceston Tasmania

#kerriegurney

I can't believe how slack I was not to do a post after my trip to Tasmania for the Craft & Quilt Fair in Launceston.
I so love Tasmania with all the gorgeous little towns and could see myself living there in future years.

Here are some photos of our time in Tassie, I took my girls seeing it was school holidays and it had been 10 years since we were last in Tasmania so the girls and I were excited to see as much as we could in our 8 days there and without the boys. Going with the girls was so much fun as if we saw something on the side of the road we stopped and looked and of course took some photos, we even bought a selfie stick so we could get photos with us all together.

including these gorgeous creatures on day 1

yes it was a tad chilly but we loved the freshness of the cold and seeing so much frost our coldest morning was -3 but luckily we didn't have to go out until it got a bit warmer

set up day

all set up

Wonderful Beautiful | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney

Hi Everyone
It is my turn up on the Couture Creations Blog,
I created this layout for a class at a local store using some of the gorgeous Couture Creations products, I am really crushing on purple at the moment so Hearts Ease papers are really hitting the spot.

Tutorial

Cut down Pansy Rainfall patterned paper to 28.5cm x 28.5cm

Cut Pansy Rainfall patterned paper diagonally into 5 sections using the lines on the paper as a guide at every 10th line or approx. 8.5cm (one corner will be slightly larger)
Distress the edges of all pieces of patterned paper and cardstock including the base piece.

Place double sided tape on the back of all pieces of patterned paper just in from the edge

Adhere all patterned paper pieces to base card and then using your fingers roll the edges up

Place two strips of double sided tape along the very edge of the back of the 12.5cm x 30.5cm piece of Cream n Sugar piece of cardstock remove the backing paper and adhere the muslin and lace border. Make sure to ruffle the muslin slightly. Add another strip  of double sided tape onto of the muslin and lace border and adhere  the whole piece to middle of layout

Flick lightly the Gold and Amethyst sprays onto the whole layout giving it a soft subtle speckle.
        Set aside to dry

Die Cut  Daisy Nesting Dies using 3 different sizes from Cream n Sugar 1 of each and then die cut 6 x the smallest die
Die Cut from Wisteria and Bordeaux cardstock 4 x Pointed Flower – Tip you can die cut two at a time if you use a metal adapter plate, so place a strip of each colour cardstock together on top of the die and cut together
Layer all flowers together using Turbo Glue Pen

Spray all lightly with Gold Spray and scrunch to give texture…don’t be gentle give them a really good scrunching  unfurl slightly and dry off using heat tool
Spray Jewelled Florettes lightly with gold spray
Spray Chipboard title using Amethyst spray and also dry with heat tool
Cut a  journaling tag using Wisteria cardstock 6.5cm x 12.5cm, distress edges
Adhere you photo to your page using double sided tape to top and bottom only so your journaling tag can slide in

Time to arrange your flowers onto you page and once you are happy with your arrangement adhere them using the Turbo Glue Pen and tuck in little pieces of left over muslin adding some softness to your floral arrangement.
Adhere you title to your layout

Finish off with Gemstones and Pearls

Products Used
MRMST1157 Amethyst Metallic Spray
Tea Dyed Muslin

Here is another version of my layout I created at the Craft & Quilt Fair in Sydney

In this version I have used real lace and also the Rose nesting dies which are slightly bigger and some premade flowers
