Sweet 16 Birthday Card | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus #birthday

Hello to you all
yesterday was my baby girls' 16th birthday
I cannot believe she is now old enough to get her learners permit and only has two more years of school and then that is it for me no more school age children ...I cannot believe how quickly these last 16 years have gone by.
For those of you with young children please cherish every moment because in the blink of an eye they will be all grown up.
If you visit my blog you can see some photos from her party that she had earlier in the month, they are not fabulous photos as everyone started arriving early so I quickly took them with my phone

Anyway enough of that here is the card I created for her using one of my favourite Couture Creations Perfectly Petite Doily Dies..young and fresh white on white with a touch of tiffany blue and gold but oh so simple and quick to create

Die cut 9 x Victoria Perfectly Petite Doily Die from white cardstock

cut them all straight across the middle

Cut a piece of white cardstock to 13cm x 30cm fold in half and then cut 2cm off the front

Start layering up your half doilies using 6mm Double Sided Tape to adhere them to the base card. I stuck both sides first then popped the middle doily on.
Once all the doily layers are on run another strip of double sided tape and  hand pleat a piece of ribbon on

Create some interest to the top of your card by scoring some lines using the Handheld Essentials stylist and the Couture Creations trimmer as a guide.
TIP: Make sure you work from the back of the card so the line are embossed on the front not debossed

to give the flower some shimmer I painted it with the Cottonball Pearl Drops this gives a nice shimmer to the flower

Pop a bit of  frayed mulsin, gold cord and metallic gold chipboard numbers and you are done ...too easy

lots of lovely doily layers

see the score lines at the top of the card

White Christmas Forest

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus

Hi everyone
I am back on the Couture Creations Blog today this time sharing a layout I created using a photo of my White Christmas Tree Forest from last year

Instead of having just one Christmas Tree I love to create a forest for Christmas and last year I decided I wanted all white trees decorated with gold ornaments and I loved it so much.
It doesn't photograph all that well but hey it looked spectacular so much so I am sticking with it again for this year although I am toying with adding another colour

anyway enough about that lets get to creating this clean and simple layout
I wanted to keep it quite plain as I really wanted my forest to shine

to start I cut a strip of White Ultimate Craft Cardstock, I place a strip of  12mm double sided tape and  2 strips of 6mm double sided tape down the center of the white strip

Pull the backing paper off all strips

and sprinkle with ultra fine gold glitter, tip off excess and return to jar

I then die cut 1 x Fans of Fantasia die from white cardstock, 2 x Holly Branch die from white glitter carstock and embossed a piece of white cardstock and a small piece of gold foil using  Mistletoe Magic embossing folder
I have also used a strip of  corrugated card and two strips of white glitter cardstock which I have created pennants with.
I distressed all the edges of the pieces and
then it is just a mater of layering all the pieces onto the base card.

Here are some closeups of the layering

Blake & Willow

#kerriegurney

Hi Kerrie here I created this simple ivory, gold and kraft layout for the Couture Creations Blog.
I just love these photos of my Great Niece and Nephew all dress up for a wedding.
  How gorgeous are they!
I wanted the photos to feature and so went with gold accents to match with sweet Willow's beautiful dress.

Here is a look at how I created some of the glittery gold accents

To create the glittery gold doily I used double sided JAC paper to die cut the lace die (it comes out of the die easily) peel the backing off  from one side adhere to base card and peel off the backing paper the top

Sprinkle the whole lace die cut with glitter and press down to get the glitter to attach firmly, tap off excess

TIP - flick over with  a  duster to remove excess glitter

to create the glittery strip on scalloped trim, run a strip of 3mm double sided tape across the scalloped trim, remove backing paper and sprinkle with glitter. Press on it to so the glitter grips to the tape, tap off excess.

I die cut the vine from Core'dinations Glitter Silk cardstock as I didn't want them to be flat

Create some mulberry paper flowers using rose nesting dies
