Family Fun Double Layout | Little Birdie Crafts

Hi Everyone Kerrie back with another tutorial for Little Birdie Crafts Blog using their gorgeous Watercolor Floral Ballet Paper Collection which is a gorgeous fresh floral collection on a linen type paper. I have also used a sheet of pink paper from their Pretty in Pink Collection which is also a linen paper. This layout is a great design for when you want to scrap an occasion and get more photos in your album. You can change up the first page and instead of one larger photo pop 2 or 3 smaller ones on to tell more of your story. These photos are from way back in 2004 and are ones that weren't great or in focus so i kept putting off scrapping them but I decided to just scrap them as I love these memories of our family holiday and cameras weren't what they are now and neither were my photgraphy skills which again is all part of  our story and that is what scrapbooking is all about documenting our family memories even if out of focus.

after cutting up my patterned papers and working out their placement I added some texture using mixed media paste and bricks stencil.
*Tip make sure if you are creating a double layout make sure you use base cardstock from the same pack, as you see my shades of white are different, which thankfully doesn't matter as I have covered most of it, same often gores for patterned paper packs as they can be from a different run. I actually didn't notice until I took the photo by then I thought too late  :)

You can see I have applied the mixed media paste nice and thick and random giving that natural brick look.
I sprinkled Cyrstal Glitter over the paste while still wet to add subtle sparkle

Snip out Primed Chipboard title and paint with Pink Ballet Chalk Paint, while wet sprinkle on Crystal glitter again to give a subtle sparkle to your title

I then layered everything onto my base pages starting with the base patterned papers and then embellishing with a mix of  fussy cut flower clusters from the Watercolour Floral Ballet fussy cut sheet, handmade flowers, die cut leaves

I finished off with some splatters using watered down chalk paint

and dry brushing Gesso onto the Handmade Flowers

You can see the sparkle on the Chipbaord title

Live Well Love Much Laugh Often Layout | Little Birdie Crafts

Hi Everyone it's Kerrie back  I hope you are all safe and well. Today I am back with a layout  I created for Little Birdie Crafts Blog
This layout is one that you can create quite quickly with just a smidge of mixed media and minimal fussy cutting
I have used Little Birdie's Birds and Berries 12x12 Paper Collection for my layout along with some of their gorgeous handmade flowers and leaves.

To start apply Mixed Media Medium using Stencil down the right hand side of  layout base. Do this randomly and just in from the edge. To add some sparkle while the Mixed Media Medium is still wet sprinkle on some Crystal Glitter, this gives you sparkle without adding colour

I snipped these frames to create two and painted just one with Lavender Blush Chalk Paint and set aside to dry with the layout base
Tip you can lighten your paint by mixing with Gesso if you like, Little Birdie Chipboard is already primed so you don't need to pre gesso

Cut layers from the patterned paper to suit photo, cut lace strip from paper and fussy cut some berry clusters

add some muslin, sisal fibre or cotton to add texture to your clusters

Finish off with some splatters using Hot Pink and Black Current Color Splash sprays, you can either just use the nozzle or a splatter brush

Chipboard, Fleur de Lis Frame

Beautiful Life Class Layouts | Celebr8

#kerriegurney #celebr8

Hi Everyone I hope you are all safe and healthy. While self isolating I was going through deleting photos from my phone and came across photos of these layouts I created for Celebr8. These were a bonus take home class that attendees were given when Erin and Jenny did their Celebr8 classes back in February.
I absolutely love this Beautiful Life collection and it was so easy to create with and as you can see it is perfect for many occasions.
Scroll down for a closer look at my layouts.

Tip; add a watercolour effect using sprays or ink pads. Just spritz or dab colour onto craft mat and spritz with water then tap page onto the craft mat

Tip; double layer embellishments using foam tape and some cotton thread, muslin or sisal fibre to add  texture and dimension

Tip; If you visit parks grab their flyers that way you can add their logo to your clusters

I always like to add splatters to finish off my layouts

Celebr8 collections are available from your local papercrafting stores in South Africa and Australia
if you local store doesn't yet stock Celebr8 collections ask them to get them in

and so the adventure begins | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

#kerriegurney #cocoavanillastudio

G'day everyone I am back sharing my last layout using Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Happiness collection. This time I have given the pink tones a rest and added some blue again showing how versatile this collection truly is

and what a fabulous adventure we had ♥

to create this aged look on my chipboard title I messily pained the chipboard using gesso and then coloured using watercolour paints while the gesso was still wet and then after it was dry I added more colour randomly.
This chipboard title is from Celebr8 they have loads of fabulous chipboard titles and elements

Unforgettable Memories | Celebr8

#kerriegurney #celebr8

Howzit everyone, today I am sharing a layout  i created using Celebr8's Photo {Booth} collection that i has photos that bring back so many amazing memories and emotions for me.
While in South Africa for Scrapbook Studio's The EVENT at  which I was the surprise guest tutor, i chatted  to some of the very passionate animal loving ladies who strongly suggestion we visit Addo Elephant Park so we did. Actually Corlia has been telling me for year i must visit and no I know why she loves it so much. It was truly amazing and to get to do it with Bezzie and Cariena on Cariena's birthday was even more special. We spent two full days there and all three of us left a piece of our hearts in Addo.

This layout features photos of before and after this elephant charged at us! it was just the three of us in our little hire car and this fella decided he had enough of us taking photos and charged.
While frightening at the time especially while I was reversing the car back away from him being careful as to not go too far back and run over the Zebras on the road behind us :)
We decided to just pull over cut the engine and let him pass which he did, mind you I don't think the three of were game enough to take a breath while he passed by.
this was about half an hour after we had entered the park so we knew the next two days were going to be ones  we will all remember forever.
