DIY Yarn Christmas Trees

Hi Everyone Kerrie  today I'm sharing some DIY Christmas Trees that are so super easy to create and something you could do with the kiddos

All you need is some styrofoam cones and some yarn, string, fibres, some diecut stars  and a hot glue gun or craft adhesive.
Make sure you choose your fibres that have different textures to give your trees some character

Start at the bottom add a blog of adhesive to hold your yarn in place and then just wrap the yarn around your cones. I placed rows of adhesive in 3/4 places going up the cone to hold the yarn in place as it is winding up the cone

Happy 2020 + Christmas 2019 Decor

#kerriegurney #christmas2019

Hi everyone
I'm just popping into wish everyone a very Happy 2020. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got to spend it with those you love.
I have been quiet as I took some time to spend with family over the break.
We had a lovely day with our children and their partners along with my Mum and my Mother in Law.
Now that the kids are all adults we do secret Santa so just one gift each which is perfect. We live in a material world these days are are always gifting ourselves something so I love that we have simplified our Christmas gifting and make it all about spending time together and of course for me decorating and making our house festive and fun.

Here is a  look at my Christmas decorating for 2019. To say I went a little overboard is an understatement but hey I love every minute of decorating and I seriously hardly bought anything new this year but I had bought some pieces in the sales after Christmas in 2018.
This year I had 21 big trees and countless small trees.
I had loads of bottle brush trees some that I bleached, some that I spray painted gold and lots of ceramic trees

my decor and trees are from Bed, Bath & Table, TK Maxx, Target Australia, Kmart Australia
wooden names and deer napkin rings had cut especially for us
I cut the letters on the bon bons using the We R Memory Keepers Alpha Punch board

I actually hardly bought any new items this year which I am quite proud of myself for creating with what I had ,  I bought the two garlands, the small flocked trees , another tree skirt, the potted arrangements and a few bits for my 3 Tiered Stand

Being Together is the best gift of all | Couture Creations, Ultimate Crafts

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts #annagriffin

Hi Everyone Kerrie here with another layout created for the
Artdeco Creations Blog this time I have used the newly released
Ultimate Crafts Season's Greetings collection to create this super quick and easy layout

I love these photos of my baby playing around with her furbaby on Christmas morning way back in 2012 which was a lazy Christmas for me as we only have one tree instead of our Christmas forest.

I have once again used the Couture Creations Anna Griffin Embossing Paste with a sprinkling of Glitter, I so love the look this gives.

A touch of texture and sparkle without overpowering my layout.
You can see my tutorial on how to create this look HERE

I love love love these handmade poinsettia flowers that come in the Season's Greetings collection, they are the perfect embellishment when you are wanting to create a quick layout

I embossed the photo mat piece of cardstock using Season's Greeting Sun Rays Embossing Folder to add some more texture and finished off by adding a sprinkling of 3mm Pearls

Sorry my photos are not very clear I think I may need a new camera as all my photos are starting to have a blur to them.

I hope you enjoyed my quick layout and that it inspires you to get some past Christmas photos in albums before this Christmas is upon us.

Thanks for stopping by

White Christmas Forest

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus

Hi everyone
I am back on the Couture Creations Blog today this time sharing a layout I created using a photo of my White Christmas Tree Forest from last year

Instead of having just one Christmas Tree I love to create a forest for Christmas and last year I decided I wanted all white trees decorated with gold ornaments and I loved it so much.
It doesn't photograph all that well but hey it looked spectacular so much so I am sticking with it again for this year although I am toying with adding another colour

anyway enough about that lets get to creating this clean and simple layout
I wanted to keep it quite plain as I really wanted my forest to shine

to start I cut a strip of White Ultimate Craft Cardstock, I place a strip of  12mm double sided tape and  2 strips of 6mm double sided tape down the center of the white strip

Pull the backing paper off all strips

and sprinkle with ultra fine gold glitter, tip off excess and return to jar

I then die cut 1 x Fans of Fantasia die from white cardstock, 2 x Holly Branch die from white glitter carstock and embossed a piece of white cardstock and a small piece of gold foil using  Mistletoe Magic embossing folder
I have also used a strip of  corrugated card and two strips of white glitter cardstock which I have created pennants with.
I distressed all the edges of the pieces and
then it is just a mater of layering all the pieces onto the base card.

Here are some closeups of the layering
