You can never have too much happy Mini | Celebr8

Hi Everyone Kerrie here with a super cute mini tag booklet that I created by folding just one sheet of patterned paper. This little mini works best with double sided papers but you can still create with single sided. You can add pages if you like too but I have just added tags that I will pop some photos on. This is a great mini whe you want to showcase a small event or just some of your fav photos
I have used the Loving You collection from Celebr8 it is an older collection but your local store may still have some in stock

Moments Together | Celebr8

#kerriegurney #celebr8

Hi Everyone
Kerrie here with a layout I created using Celebr8's Summer Adventure Collection

Although this is a beachy summer collection it works perfectly for family photos and other occasions

I have used the papers along with some of the mattboard embellishments and the organza and tulle flower which i hit with the heat gun to create a flower with more character
The title is from another collection, not sure which one sorry.

I added some texture using the Seamless Borders Mask along with Couture Creations Anna Griffin Texture Paste and a sprinkle of glitter

I decided to leave the mattboard all natural as I liked the look and feel it gave my layout.

Live, Laugh, Love Double Layout for Ultimate Crafts | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney #ultimatecrafts #couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone, Kerrie here
I love to create embossed backgrounds on my layouts using versamark inkpad and gold embossing powder, especially for my travel layouts as it gives them a rustic well traveled look.
As you all know I love a distress look and I also love to have things not perfect this way you have the freedom to just create and not stress about lining things up.
This selection of photos are from a trip to Tasmania my girls and I took last July, we had the best time just the three of us touring the top end of Tassi.
On this day it was freezing and the wind was fierce,  I actually had two coats on and I was still cold!!! The walk down to the bottom of the falls was windy and so very cold, but we past all these people coming back up in tshirts and I couldn't work out how they could stand the cold, that is until we walked back up!!! It was such a steep walk that we too were stripping off our coats and worked up quite the sweat walking back up.
The walk down and back were so worth it though as Liffey Falls are beautiful.

Instructions

1.       Using Versamark Ink pad ink up Ooh La La Zephyr Embossing Folder, stamp background using embossing folder on both pieces of Cinnamon Cardstock
2.       Sprinkle with Mirror Gold Embossing Powder, tap off excess powder and heat until all embossing powder is molten and set. This does not have to be perfect as we want a rustic, vintage look. Clean Embossing Folder using warm sopay water or a baby wipe straight away after stamping.
3.       Cut from Obsidian (Black) Cardstock 1 x 9cm x 25.5cm, 1 x 9cm x 27cm, 1 x 3cm x 28.5cm, 1 x 3cm x 27cm, 1 x 2.5cm x 18cm, 1 x 2.5cm 26.5cm pieces
4.       Cut from Golden Baroque pattern paper 1 x 6cm x 27cm, 1 x 6cm x 15.5cm strips
5.       Cut from Chocolate Swirls pattern paper 1 x 15cm x 15cm piece
6.       Cut a 4.5cm piece from Border strip from Ephemera pack, giving two pieces to use.
7.       Emboss both 2.5cm wide strips using Zephyr embossing folder
8.       Create pennants from the 2.5cm x 18cm embossed strip and the 3cm x 28.5cm strip
9.       Distress the edges of all paper and cardstock pieces
10.   Ink all the distressed edges of all pieces of paper and cardstock and also ink the edges of all diecuts, using sponge dauber and brown ink pad.
11.   Layer all pieces onto the embossed base, making sure to match up both sides in the center
12.   Add lace trim to page before main photo on first page
13.   Before layering main photo mat onto base wrap twine around photo mat
14.   Add photos

15.   Finish off with die cut embellishments and a sprinkling of Pearls

here is a closer look at the embossed background

Celebrate 18

on the weekend we had my niece Grayson's 18th birthday. I still cannot believe she is now 18. Grayson has grown into such a lovely young woman and her Mum (my sister Megan) would be so very proud of the young lady she helped create even though Megan has been gone for almost 8 years now, Grayson has so many of her Mum's features and mannerisms.

I bought Grayson a Tiffany & Co Necklace as I wanted her to be spoilt on her birthday as I know Megan would have if she was here.

The card I made for Grayson I also wanted it to be Tiffany blue themed and here it is

and here is a photo of Grayson and I ... yes she is tall

Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine #20 | Scrap Therapy

I was asked to create two layouts about someone that had passed away and what I missed about them. This is a very hard subject at the best of times but the day I received the call to see if I could step in and take on this commission was the day before the 7th anniversary of my sisters passing. As you can imagine it was even harder to do but I have to say that I did enjoy my stroll back reminiscing about our childhood.

I chose to do a collage of photos of my sister Megan and I from our childhood up until 3 weeks after she was diagnosed with cancer, this was the first time I had seen in her person and she had already lost so much weight and was covered in small hard cancerous lumps all over her body. Megan only lived for 3 months from when she was diagnosed so we didn't really have long to prepare ourselves for her to loose her fight and fight she did. Megan had two small children to live for and she was determined that she wasn't going to loose this fight, but the type of cancer Megan had was rare and there was nothing that could be done for Megan as there was no research into her form of cancer.

Please if you can give generously to the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and their Ride to Conquer Cancer as all the money raised goes into research all forms of cancer. My brother Lachlan is riding again this year for his 3rd year, last year Wayne, Brayden and Lachlan all took part, Megan would be so proud of them all donning the lycra just for her :)

the photos are of Megan from a young girl through to the beautiful young woman she became and one with me at Lone Pine as kids (yes I had a boy haircut) and then of us both on my wedding day.

The other person  chose was my Father In Law who passed away last year, I always loved seeing Colin interact with all his grandchildren, they all loved and adored him. Colin was a great man and we all loved him dearly, he has had some tough battles in his life and when he had a stroke in July 2011, although you could see the fight in his eyes, it was too big and he was taken from us with a massive a heart attack 4 months later. Although we miss him terribly we all know Colin was a very proud man and would have hated to live not being able to talk, walk or feed himself.

We will miss Megan and Colin always and not a day goes by that I don't think of them both. I still think I must phone Megan and tell her that when things happen that I know she would love to hear about.

Please remember to cherish and treasure time spent with your loved ones, life is just so precious and take loads of photos.
