Here is my layout and tutorial
As soon as I received this Star Goods Train Chipboard in my Imaginarium Designs pack of chipboard goodness, I knew I had the perfect photos of my son (who is now 19) when he was young playing with his wooden Thomas train set, but do you think I could find them, not in the time frame I had so I messaged my Niece and asked her to send some photos of her son Blake that I could use. When I find the photos of my son I will scrap another page to go with this one.
ok onto my tutorial
Start off by painting the Imaginarium Designs Childhood Memories and Star Goods Train Chipboard with blue acrylic paint and set aside to dry
Next using Gold Glitter Paste and Moulin Rouge Lace Die add some texture to the top left and bottom right of your base card. Set aside to dry and make sure you wash off all excess glitter paste from your die.
Once Star Goods Train Chipboard is dry emboss the bottom sections of the carriages using 4 Leaf Clover Embossing Folder
here is a look at the chipboard painted and embossed
lightly sand the train to revel some of the chipboard core
to make the chipboard a bit grungy spray with Walnut Ink and while still wet rough the edges of the chipboard. The Walnut ink also helps tone down the blueness of the paint. Set aside to dry
Next cut 12 x 1.5cm strips and 2 x 1cm strips of patterned paper using different but coordinating papers, I have used Simple Stories papers from Homespun, A Charmed Life and DIY Boutique as I feel these papers are just perfect for my photos.
Select 4 x 1.5cm strips and emboss them using 4 Leaf Clover, Small Dots Lg Barb Wire and Zig Zag Chevrons, and emboss the 2 x 1cm strips using the Christmas Quilt Embossing Folders. Using the folder centre slot to run your strips through the folders.
When using the embossed strips on your page you can change it up and use the debossed side if you like, as I have done with the small dots.
Cut your 1.5cm strips down half to 28cm and half 26cm
Apply 6mm double sided tape to the backs of all your strips
Die cut 1 x Chandeliers Lace Border.
TIP; Remember you don't need a extended cutting plate to die cut these dies just carefully run through one section and then the extra bit
Distress the edges of all papers and the base card and then using a sponge dauber ink all the edges with a brown dye ink
Including the Lace Border. Spray the base card stock lightly with Walnut Ink, this will soak in and dry quickly.
Now you can layer everything onto your page.
Spray the Imaginarium Designs Embellishment 8 Small Chipboard with watered down Walnut Ink giving them just a touch of colour
Use the off cut pieces of 1.5cm strips to create little pennant clusters
Add some glittered chipboard stars for some sparkle
The 1cm strips along the top and bottom of the page are embossed using the Christmas Quilt embossing Folder.
