Ride to Conquer Cancer Brisbane 2014

Over the weekend we joined 1 124 riders who braved the wet cold conditions on Saturday and then woke to a gorgeous day Sunday to complete our ride of over 220 kms.

The total raised for 2014 so far $3.8 Million bringing the total raised over the last 4 years $17.9 Million … this is amazing and you are all part of this awesome achievement.

Here is a look at where your dollars go

Since 2011, funds raised by the Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer® have supported 66 new research projects, including a $2.7 million Flagship project which will bolster QIMR's groundbreaking work harnessing the power of the immune system to fight cancer. Other research projects funded have focused on areas including:

Breast Cancer
Ovarian Cancer
Stomach Cancer
Bowel Cancer
Leukemia and Blood Cancers
Prostate Cancer
Skin Cancer
Brain Cancer
Pancreatic Cancer
Nasopharyngeal and Oesophageal Cancer
Endometrial Cancer

We have all signed again for 2015 and look forward to your support again in 2015

The Ride to Conquer Cancer Brisbane 2013

Over the weekend my brother Lachlan and 1235 passionate riders took up the challenge to ride over 200kms over two days in the fight to Conquer Cancer. They set off early Saturday morning riding from UQ at St Lucia to Wivenhoe Dam, stayed the night there and then rode back to UQ on Sunday morning. Their early start Sunday morning was delayed by heavy fog but that didn't seem to dampen the spirits of any of the riders.

This was Lachlan's 3rd year fundraising for The Ride to Conquer Cancer

The Ride to Conquer Cancer

Well today is the day ...the boys have been training for ....

This morning they joined with 1500 riders to take part in a 200km ride raising money for cancer research ...and this year the 1500 riders raised an amazing 5.2 Million Dollars!!! With Team Matrix Reloaded raising $32 184.00 a huge effort for which we thank all of you who have supported the team and made a donation, they will be riding for you all and for all of our loved ones we have lost to Cancer.

Here is a photo of Team Matrix Reloaded (minus Lachlan who has a broken collarbone in 3 places, 2 broken ribs and an airpocket on his lung after coming off his bike in another charity ride two weeks ago and was operated on Thursday)
