Deck The Halls Envelope Mini Album | Couture Creations

Hi Everyone Kerrie back with another project as Guest Designer for Couture Creations

For this project I created a  Christmas Mini Album using a packet of Christmas Envelopes from the Deck the Halls Collection, this is a super quick way to create a 4x6 mini album with the pockets already created for you

I started off by adhering two envelopes together back to back just on the flap, I just used the tape already there for sealing the envelopes

I used the whole pack of envelopes, so adhered 4 sets together and left two singles for the front and back of the mini album

Then you just slide the flaps of two sets into one envelope which will be the front envelope

I then tucked the flap of the back envelope into itself and then slide the remaining 2 sets in and just like that your mini album base has been created.
You can secure the flaps more securely by adding a little adhesive to to each flap stop them sliding around

I then embellished the front and the inner pages using a selection of Die Cut Shapes, Ephemera pieces, Patterned Paper and Sentiments
I also added a 4x6 mat to pop my photos on using Snow White Cardstock and finishing the matt off with a black hand drawn pen line to give some definition to the photo mat blocks

There is room for adding tags and/or mementos from your Christmas along with some journaling
I finished off with red ribbon tied around twice as a closure for my album which you can easily untie to open up

TIP- keep everything fairly flat to keep so that the album is not too bulky remembering  you still have to add photos

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial and remember if you recreate this min album don't forget to share on your socials and tag #couturecreationsaus and me #kerriegurney

You can never have too much happy Mini | Celebr8

Hi Everyone Kerrie here with a super cute mini tag booklet that I created by folding just one sheet of patterned paper. This little mini works best with double sided papers but you can still create with single sided. You can add pages if you like too but I have just added tags that I will pop some photos on. This is a great mini whe you want to showcase a small event or just some of your fav photos
I have used the Loving You collection from Celebr8 it is an older collection but your local store may still have some in stock

ANZAC AT HOME, Mini Album | Little Birdie Crafts

#kerriegurney #littlebirdiecrafts

This year with COVID-19 isolation restrictions in place our ANZAC day dawn services had to be cancelled and so we were called to pay our respects by standing on the end of our driveways at 6am for the service held on the internet and radio stations.
I created 60 watercoloured poppies to decorate our house for the service along with our flag and candles to light up the driveway and we all stood on the driveway, even Cadbury who unfortunately right when the last post was playing decided to chase a cat that wandered around the corner but hey it all added to our unusual service. It was lovely seeing all our neighbours out on their driveways too

I created this little mini file folder album using Little Birdie Crafts Poppies & Roses collection to pop my photos and some images I took from  RSL Queensland's site to remember our special ANZAC service.

for those that aren't Australian or a New Zealander ANZAC day is all about remembering our fellow country men and women who have given there lives so we get to live a safe and privlaged life in our countries.

I will add my journaling to the blank spaces on these pages ,  I tucked the images I took from the internet into the pockets.

I printed the clip art poppies from the internet and watercoloured them

Happy Memories | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney #couturecreations

Hi everyone Kerrie back with another layout using Couture Creations Sunburnt Country
This time a double layout with lots of fussy cut leaves and die cut kangaroos

I added some subtle texture using stencil and embossing paste

I coloured the chipboard title and elements using Black Card Deco Essentials Ink Pad
OI also dry brushed the corrugated card with white gesso

I added black splatters using watered down black gesso and a splatter brush, making sure to cover my photos before splattering

TIP: to get your die cut kangaroos facing different direction you just flip your patterned paper over and die cut. I inked the edges of the kangaroo die cuts using black ink on a sponge dauber.

Couture Creations Sunburnt Country Collection is available NOW from your local papercrafting store

Happy 50th Birthday Shabby Chic Card | Little Birdie Crafts

Hi Everyone Kerrie here back with a special card created using gorgeous Little Birdie Crafts products.
I have had a few special milestone birthdays in the last couple of months and here is the card i created for a special friend to celebrate her turning the BIG 50
I love how this card turned out, soft and feminine with a touch of shabby chicness

I love for my card to have layers of subtle texture and this is where stencils and pastes are the best. You can add texture and subtle detail to enhance your projects.

apply mixed media paste randomly using stencil

while the texture paste is still wet, sprinkle on Shimmer Hodge Podge

to colour wood veneers and chipboard, mix some Chalk Paint in with Crackle Texture Paste, i used the Whipped Seafoam as I wanted just a touch of green
I like using Crackle Paste on my embellishments as it adds another subtle layer to my projects
Little Birdie Crafts Chipboard is primed so you don't need to add a base coat

I cut a tag from coordinating patterned paper and layered it onto white cardstock. I fussy cut some flower clusters and the Happy Birthday from the cut up patterned paper piece.
Once everything was dry I embellished using handmade flowers and butterflies, first i placed a layer of messy cotton thread to layer everything onto again adding subtle texture.

a closer look at the texture created using texture and crackle pastes
