Christmas Bauble Trees Card | Couture Creations

Hi everyone Kerrie back again as Guest Designer for Couture Creations for this card I have gone back to where I started with stamping and watercolouring

Couture Creations Deck the Halls Collection has these cute stamp sets which you can colour using Alcohol Ink Markers, Ink Pads or Watercolours for my card I have used the Christmas Tree Scene set and I have watercoloured

I started by inking up my Jet Black Stayz In Place Alcohol Ink Pad

I then stamped up my images using Cotton Watercolour Paper

I then coloured my images, I went for a messy watercolour look
Once dry I cut our all my images and arranged them on my card base and adhered them all using foam tape to give dimension to my card

I added some sparkle with Crystal Glitter Glue

#kerriegurney #ultimatecrafts #couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone Kerrie here back on the Artdeco Creations Blog with two shabby chic cards created using Ultimate Crafts Magnolia Lane papers, dies, embossing folders, stamps and embellishments

I created these cards as part of my card class at SENZ

Both cards are 15cm x 15cm Square Cards, which means both cardstock card bases are cut to 15cm x 30cm and folded in half.

Just Because Card
                   Cut 1 x 14.5cm x 14.5cm piece from pink paper

      1 x 6.5cm x 8cm piece from blue diamond paper
Cut 1 x 6.5cm x 13cm piece from blue diamond paper and create pennant
Cut 1 x 6cm x 12.5cm piece from Magnolia Borders paper and create pennant
Diecut Square Magnolia Frame from Timeless Garden paper
Cut Birdcage from Poetical Labels paper
Distress and Ink the edges of all pieces
Stamp Just Because from Magnolia Lace Stamp Set and create pennant
Layer all pieces onto card base using foam tape to raise up pennant, birdcage and sentiment
Create a next using cotton thread
Adhere Paper Magnolia on top of cotton thread using Turbo Glue Pen
Create a bow with Seam Binding Ribbon and adhere under flower
Finish off with a sprinkling of Pearls and Crystalina Glitter Glue

Embossed Magnolia Card
Cut piece of Damask Curtains paper down to 10cm x 15cm
Emboss the B side using Magnolia Lace embossing Folder
Fussy cut both the borders from Magnolia & Lace pattern paper
Die Cut from Rosehip Memories B side 1 x Magnolia Doily
Die cut from ivory cardstock the leaves only from Rose Cutting Die set
Distress and Ink the edges of all pieces
Layer all pieces onto card base using Turbo Glue Pen or Double Sided Tape, use foam mounting tape to adhere the doily center
Run a strip of 6mm double sided tape along the edge of embossed piece.
Remove backing paper from tape and cover with Iridescent Super Fine Glitter
Create a nest using cotton thread
Adhere Magnolia paper Flower using Turbo Glue Pen

Finish off with a sprinkling of Pearls and some Crystalina Glitter Glue

TIP; use Quick Release Die Cutting Paper when diecutting as this helps to release all papers and cardstock from the dies

So Happy in Love | Couture Creations Ultimate Crafts

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hi Everyone

I am so excited to share my layout with you all today for two reasons one is it is created with the gorgeous Ultimate Crafts Magnolia Lane collection and two I am super excited for my gorgeous niece as she and her amazing boyfriend are now engaged to be married!!!
James took Rebecca to Cancun Mexico and proposed to her on the beach there, how romantic is that!!!
I am just so very happy for them both and wish both James and Rebecca a lifetime of happiness together.

onto my tutorial

I started off by embossing a strip of ivory cardstock using the Petite Tied Together Embossing Folder, I love this folder as it is a cute version of the best selling Tied Together folder, so perfect for this collection

remember all Couture Creations and Ultimate Crafts embossing folders have the slot in the top so you can emboss long strips ...you just slide the strip through and line up the pattern
TIP; make sure the edge of the folder is over the edge of the acrylic plate so you don't get a flat spot.

one perfectly embossed strip

next I tore a piece of the Elegant Lady patterned paper and distressed the other 3 edges

I then tore another piece from the Poetical Labels patterned paper again distressing the edges
and layered them onto a sheet of Ivory cardstock

I then cut some pieces to use as layers I have even used the back of the barcode strip to add a layer
I also used a sheet of Timeless Garden patterned paper from the 6x6 pad as a mat for my photos and I left the white strip on as it adds a big more interest to the layers
I have distressed all the edges of all pieces

I die cut a heart from denim cardstock and popped it in behind my layers
I then popped on my photos

added some embellishments from the Magnolia Lane Ephemera pack and a trinket
I used the Typography 6x6 paper to create my title along with some wood veneer words from my stash.
I created a journal tag which is slipped behind the photo, I added a diecut butterfly with some foam tape and tied some lace onto a paperclip to use as a tab to pull the journaling tag out

I also raised the magnolia die cuts using foam tape to give dome dimension to my layout and I added the strip from the 6x6 Typography paper for a but more detail

add a sprinkling of 3mm pearls

add some sparkle with Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue

Together | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney

Hi everyone it's Kerrie here

It is my turn on the Couture Creations Blog again
and I am just loving the new Vintage Rose Garden Patterned Papers, they are so soft and pretty.

Seeing today is my 50th ..yes 50th Birthday
I thought I would scrapbook one of my childhood photos, this is a photo of my brother Shane and I taken in March 1968.
I love this photo of us, we were just too cute.

To start die cut from cardstock 1 x Postale Square die using Quick release Die Paper

see how the die lifts straight off when you use Quick Release Die Paper

Cut the die in half

adhere to the top and bottom of 4"x 6" photo using double sided tape
you want the top is hanging over the top of photo

Die cut 2 x Vintage Borders from cardstock

Cut a strip of gingham patterned paper 5cm wide x 20cm long and emboss

pop the strip through the slot in the top of the embossing folder and emboss the full strip.
I love that this Christmas embossing folder is so versatile and can be used for any occasion

Die Cut 2 x Vintage Branch dies from patterned paper and 1 x Daffodil Spray Die from cardstock

Ink the edges using a sponge dauber so as to not overdo the inking

Lightly sand the embossed paper strip

and then ink lightly around edges and on the embossed pattern

Distres the edges of all pieces and then start layering pieces onto the base pattern paper

add some pearls to flower centers on base patterned paper

Finish off with some Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue to flowers on base patterned paper and premade flowers

here is a closer look at the details

Simple Card Set

Hi everyone it is Kerrie and it's my turn on the Couture Creations Blog again.
For today's post I created a quick and simple set of cards using  3 colours of Core'dinations cardstock, a few sheets of the Pink & White patterned papers from the Couture Creations Damask Delight Paper Pads and some of the fabulous NEW Couture Creations Embossing Folders and Dies.
Stay with me as there are alot of photos and some techniques for you to look at....

All the cards are quite simple and don't take long to create, this is a fabulous way to stock up your card collection so you have a card ready for your next special occasion.

Here is a close up look at some of the techniques I have used on the cards

Embossing, pop all your strips into the embossing folder to save time. When embossing with the Chevron folder make sure you check whether you want your chevron horizontal or vertical on your cardstock and place in the the folder the correct way.

One of best things about using Core'dinations color core cardstock is how you can change the whole look of your project just by sanding lightly to reveal the core colour

If your cutting plates are a bit worn use a Metal Adapter Plate to help the die cut through, actually even if you palates are new use one as it stops your plates from marking

with just one run through your machine your die will cut through and lift straight off the die

If you only want to die cut one size from the Retro Flowers Die cut your cardstock to fit, save a lot of wastage

Sand the edges of your flowers to add some texture and definition to your petals

don't have glitter cardstock, create your own using our GLitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue, just squeeze it out onto the doily die

and then use your finger to smooch it all over the die giving a thin coating, set aside to dry

To create a paper flower die cut 3 of the Retro Flower Dies

Layer the two larger ones together using a mini glue spot to hold in place. Spritz with water

Pinch and scrunch your petals, until you are happy with how they look. Leave to dry

do the same with your leaves instead of leaving them flat. You can then add some glitter glue to the leaves giving them some sparkle

When you don't need a full 12" border strip just die cut the size of cardstock that you need

Finish off by adding Glitzin Glamour Glitter Glue to the edges of flowers to give them a nice sparkle.

TIP; when diecutting Core'dinations Glitter Silk Cardstock place the back side onto the blades, it gives a clean cut.
TIP; Distress the edges of your cardstock and patterned papers using the edge of scissors

and that is the end of my very long photo filled post, I hope I have inspired you to create some fun quick and simple cards.
